When You Know, You Know
Kristin and Sabair first met while dancing the night (and day) away in Tulum. She came from Miami and he came from New York. A mutual friend introduced KP and her friend to his friend group, knowing they’d hit it off. While no words were exchanged that trip, there was an ease in each other’s presence that already felt like home.
Six months later, the universe brought them together again at a show in New York. Magic sparked while dancing and talking until sunrise. An inevitable pull—and a sense of having known each other across lifetimes—led to hours-long conversations every night until, three weeks later, Sabair made an impromptu trip to Miami.
Even a global internet blackout didn’t stop him. He waited at the airport to catch a flight that landed at 3 a.m. for a 24-hour trip that sealed the deal. Three weeks later, they both said, “You’re the one.” Six months later he proposed in Nepal, and not long after, they moved in together in New York.
And the Rest Is History
After a lifetime of declaring he was never getting married, it took Sabair exactly six months to propose. Turns out he wasn’t anti-marriage… he was just waiting for the right person.
KP’s remote job made long distance a lot easier, and they wasted no time making memories.
They spent two weeks in Colombia taking salsa lessons and, naturally, dancing the night away. They celebrated her birthday in Austin, went to Sabair’s very first football game in Dallas, and spent Christmas with her family, where they fully claimed him as one of their own… and he may or may not have developed a slight Southern accent (jury’s still out).
Then KP came to Nepal, where his family became hers, too.
Now they’re beyond excited to bring both families, and all their favorite people, together to celebrate love, laughter, and this beautiful, unexpected, “never say never” kind of story.
